Digital Design and Marketing

Client: ACRE Restaurant and Bar
Role: Graphic Designer, Photographer

Projects: Menus and Physical Media

Brief 1:

Revise menu design for both user readability and consistent brand design.

Specificis: Create a consistent layout across all menus (lunch, dinner, brunch, etc), and improve overall aesthic design.

Steps

1. Research menu layouts, using both general online references and viewing menus from other restaurants in the area.

2. Draft menu layouts, showcasing layout/template options and design options.

3. Revise logo to be printed on menus.

Notes on original menu:

Logo was being hand stamped, causing excess work and stress (hosts having to stamp paper mid-dinner rush), as well as inconsistent placement and ink quality.

Pizza toppings located on back of menu creates lack of information for patrons and that means missing out on potential revenue from upgrades. Toppings could be better organized.

Changes:

Two column design on front to include both pizza mains and toppings. Organized toppings into both type and price.

With a blank back side, I took the opportunity to advertise the restaurant’s retail items, since one of their products is featured on a pizza dish.

Physical media: Flyers, cards

Brief 1: Restaurant was adding a weekly special, and owner wanted a way for employees to advertise.

Specifics: Create a business card advertisement that people can easily keep in their wallet and pass out when at their favorite bar.
